Our project

Safe Future Erasmus+ project is an ambitious collective enterprise undertaken by eight organizations from Spain, Greece, Italy and Hungary.

The project aims to create a network of solid associations dedicated to support and promote actions that advance road safety and traffic education, as well as awareness raising for road safety and sustainable mobility.

Through the development of digital tools, innovative practices and the creation of an integrated school network, it seeks to inspire a positive mindset and a change in the behavior of the younger generation, leading to safer and more sustainable mobility practices.

The program has as its final objective to foster young people’s responsibility in their local urban area (respect environment, circulation code, coexistence and respect with different factors involved in road safety). Project aims to support secondary education teachers in order to ensure that they feel ready to give traffic safety & mobility education lessons and ensure the continuity of learning even in crisis context. The Program will also support the use of the European frameworks on digital competences of educators including the development and use of open educational resources, open textbooks, and free & open source educational software. It is important to build on the momentum of behavioral change and political agility towards sustainable mobility through public education by creating “ACTIVE & SAFE” minded schools that support active mobility. A green restart will be an opportunity to shape the 21st century in a way that is clean, healthy, safe & resilient according to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agenda. The benefits are positive for everyone, especially for the age groups of children and adolescents that road crashes and air pollution due to traffic are the leading cause of death worldwide.

This project aims to support exactly this need for modernization & digital transformation and ensure learning continuity. The project will also support the testing of innovative practices to prepare teachers to become true factors of change (e.g. save resources, reduce energy use and waste etc) The school community engages in cohesive, collective and collaborative action aimed at supporting each learner in the most appropriate way. This also requires a cross-sectoral approach and close cooperation with a wide range of external stakeholders with relevant expertise and the community at large to deal with issues schools do not (and cannot) have the relevant expertise for. Therefore partnerships between formal, non-formal and informal sectors are crucial. The partners of this consortium are examples of such stakeholders. The project will support the taking up of digital technologies & of innovative and open pedagogies in education, training, youth. The partnerships will promote networking with institutions across the EU, sharing of resources & expertise. The project will promote innovative methods & tools for teaching, training, learning and assessment as drivers of improvements in LL.

The proposed project focuses on the design and development of innovative training material enhanced by interactive new media technologies and a delivery methodology supported by interactive visualization technologies (including intelligent uses of virtual augmented reality technology) that will help teachers integrate sustainable mobility & Road Safety issues in the school curriculum. Its innovative character is also found in the gamification component that will produce. The use of game elements in non-recreational activities is intended to promote the active participation and involvement of the participants.
